Below are some of the recipes to make these fun treats!
Homemade Caramel Sauce and an Apple:
Ingredients: makes 2 1/2 cups
3/4 cup of brown sugar
3/4 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of corn syrup
1/3 cup of butter
2/3 cup whipping cream
Combine the syrup, sugars and butter into a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat for about 5-6 minutes while periodically stirring. Allow the mixture to come to a full boil then let cool for 5 minutes. Place in a jar in the refrigerator and let it thicken! Add an apple to the box to make it complete.
Hot Chocolate in a Jar
Hot cocoa mix
Put the ingredients in a jar one by one with the hot cocoa mix first, then the crushed peppermints, followed by the chocolate chips and top it off with the marshmallows. Depending on the size of your jar you will put different amounts of each ingredient. Once complete, you are ready to place the jar in the box!
Ingredients: makes 10-14 servings
9 cups Chex cereal
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
or 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
1/2 cup of smooth peanut butter
1/4 cup of butter, melted
1-2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar
Pour out the cereal in a large bowl and set aside. Microwave the chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter for one minute on high. Take out to stir and microwave for another 30 seconds or longer until completely smooth. Add the vanilla and pour the mixture over the cereal. After stirring these ingredients, pour into a large Ziploc bag with the powdered sugar and shake well. Spread the finished product on waxed paper until it has cooled. Put into your choice of container and place in the box!
Ingredients: makes 2 lbs.
1 cup of crushed candy canes
2 lbs. of white chocolate
Peppermint flavoring is optional
Put candy canes in a plastic bag. Once the bag is closed, hammer into 1/4 –inch chunks or smaller. Use a double boiler to melt the white chocolate then pour the candy cane chunks into the chocolate with the peppermint flavoring. Pour the mix onto a cookie sheet with waxed paper. Freeze until firm for about 45 minutes in the refrigerator. Once removed, break the bark into pieces. Wrap them up in a bag to put in the box and deliver this delicious dessert to whoever you please!
