Hey Journey Church! A few weeks ago we left Norman to go to Stuart, Oklahoma for Student Journey Summer Camp. With over 350 people in attendance, we were blessed with the largest summer camp in the history of Journey Church! The students from 6th – 12th grade came together from a variety of schools and towns. Since we had more students then ever, we recruited more leaders than ever. Over 60 college students and adults leaders up left their lives for a week to be small group leaders, rec team leaders, and mentors to these students. These leaders bonded with the students all day every day to develop healthy mentoring relationships, and leadership skills.
We want to take this opportunity to thank you. Many of you helped us out by donating money for scholarships, and this became huge blessing to several families. Without your support we could not have accomplished as much as we did. One of the scholarships we offered was called the “Bring One”. This allows a Student Journey regular attendee to bring and un-churched friend to summer camp completely free of charge. We believe people shouldn’t have to pay to hear about Jesus and this year we had over 40 “Bring One” students. Most of those even made first time decisions for Christ and all together we had over 60 decisions made at camp this year. God was doing big things in the lives of this future generation. This incredible reality was made possible through your faithfulness to see campuses and cities transformed for Christ.
We want to thank you for all of your support. Whether it was financially, through prayer, or by volunteering your time, we want to know you are greatly appreciated. It could not have happened without you. We are looking forward to an incredible fall semester and we know God has BIG things in store in the lives of students. Please continue to pray, connect, and invite students into what is happening at Student Journey and together we will see lives transformed.
