Matthew 6:9
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name
Holy is He, Holy is His name. God is sanctified, consecrated, and blessed. These are just a few characteristics of God, but what is encouraging, is that by Him living us, we embody these as well. We, upon accepting Jesus, have been freed from sin, dedicated for a purpose, and are well blessed.
- Jehovah Jireh means The Lord Who Provides
Provide means to supply somebody with something, make something available, or supply a means of support. God is our Provider and is giving in nature. He supplies us with our daily needs and lavishes us with his blessings. God takes joy in providing for us and blessing us when we are obedient to Him.
Matthew 6:25-27
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feed them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father, today I acknowledge your desire to provide for us. Father, I confess my sins and moments of doubt in your provision. Thank you for your forgiveness and willingness to bless us. Father, today I put my trust in you and believe that you will provide my every need. Father, I declare that you are the Lord Who Provides. I love you, and thank you. Amen.
Challenge
Reflect upon the name Jehovah Jireh and what it means in your life. The Lord promises to supply our every need, so we need not to worry, but to trust. What are a few areas in your life that you need to trust the Lord with? Today, declare that He is the Lord Who Provides in those areas.
