The Lord’s Prayer – June 5

Matthew 6:9

Our Father in heaven, hallowed by your name

Our God is the God Who Was, Who Is, and Who Is to Come. His omnipresence makes it possible for His promises to be fulfilled today.

  •  Jehovah Shammah means The Lord is There
  • Jehovah Shalom means The Lord of Peace

God is ever-present in the world day and He is in alive in us. Being filled with His Holy Spirit, not only enables us to commune with Him, but also for Him to guide us. His Spirit also allows for divine intervention and revelation. He grants us a peace that “transcends all understanding” because He is the Almighty God (Philippians 4:7).

John 14:26

But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, today I acknowledge that you are Ever-present and you are our Almighty God. Father, I confess my sins and my need for your everlasting peace. Thank for your forgiveness and blessings. I pray for your Spirit to consume me today, and to guide my every move. Father, today I declare that you are the Lord who is There and you are the Lord of Peace. I love you, and I thank you. Amen.

Challenge

Take a moment to reflect on the names of God listed above. If God is the Lord of Peace, and His Spirit lives in you, how does this affect your approach to daily life?
