Matthew 6:11
Give us today our daily bread.
Be specific. Do you bring specific needs to God each day, or do you just expect the answers to come in?
Luke 11:5-9
Then he said to them, “Suppose one of you has a friend, and he goes to him at midnight and says, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread, because a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have nothing to set before him.’ I tell you, though he will not get up and give him the bread because he is his friend, yet because of the man’s boldness he will get up and give him as much as he needs.”
Be specific. Be bold. God knows what you need before you need it, but boldly approach his throne and make your detailed requests.
Heavenly Father, you see our needs before they are requested. Father, I confess my sins and my lack of trust in you. I pray with specific prayers because I know you are a provisionary. You are a sovereign God and I trust that you will provide all our needs. Father, thank you for your faithfulness. I love you, and thank you. Amen.
Challenge
Remember, there is a difference in your needs and your wants. What are those specific needs you need met by our limitless God? Is it your mortgage? Medical bills? Restoration of a relationship? Be specific.
