Matthew 6:11
Give us today our daily bread.
If we are functioning in the Spirit of God, in His will, then our actions, responses, and habits should resemble the Fruit of the Spirit.
Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
John 15:1-3
I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful… No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
If we are the branches, then the vine is our source. So not only does God provide us with the material necessities to live, but He also provides with the Spiritual needs to prosper. As your Provider and Source, he is also cultivating your heart to look like his. God is life giving, and all the things of the Fruit of the Spirit. As He fills you up, be ready to pour yourself out.
Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father, today I acknowledge that You are Vine and we are the branches. Father, I confess my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Father, I pray for the strength to remain in you. Thank you for providing with all things necessary to prosper. I pray that you continue to prune my life so that it is more fruitful. I love you, and thank you. Amen.
Challenge
Examine your responsibilities and roles during the week, in your family, at work, at church, etc. How are you displaying the Fruits of the Spirit in these roles? Continue to ask God to be filled up and for opportunities to be poured out.
