Matthew 6:10
Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
It has been said that you are able to recognize a person’s priorities by which their time is most spent. In order to walk in the fullest life God intended our number one priority must be our relationship with God. Our second priority should be our family.
Yesterday, we declared God’s rightful place in our personal lives. Placing God as our first focus, give us an appropriate perspective of our family’s needs and of God’s desires for them.
Philippians 1:9-11
And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with fruit of righteousness that come through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.
Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father, today I declare your Sovereignty in my family’s lives. Father, I confess my sins and my need for an appropriate perspective for my family. Thank you for your forgiveness and desire to reign over us. Father, I pray your will be done in my family’s life. I pray that my obedience to your purposes will strengthen and encourage my family to do the same. I love you and thank you. Amen.
Challenge
If you are married, begin praying for your spouse first. Next, if you have children, begin praying for each child. Then begin praying for each of your family members, by name, that they will declare the Sovereignty of the Lord in their lives and submit themselves to God’s will. (If you are not yet married, or do not yet have children, still pray for these individuals who may one day be in your life.)
